“When you feel condemned”
“If our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.” 1 John 3:20
Let’s face it, sin has far reaching consequences. Our past mistakes can come back to haunt us in many different ways. Sometimes it shows up in the form of consequences like broken relationships, ruined careers, financial loss, or damages reputation. It can also show up in more internal ways like guilt, shame, or regret. These consequences of our sins can be so far reaching, that it may seem like we will never out live it. A ghost from the past that we cannot shake. This ongoing struggle can leave you feeling like it will never get better. BUT THERE IS GOOD NEWS!
Jesus is greater than our condemning heart. Greater than our sin. Greater than our past. Although sin can be far reaching, Jesus reaches even further. His grace and forgiveness can turn those mistakes into experience. Experience that has made you who you are today. Experience that can be passed onto others who are struggling with the sins you have now overcome.
So the next time your heart condemns you, remember that Jesus is greater than your heart. And He knows all the things that you have done and loves you all the more. Remind yourself that you are saved by grace through faith, and that your sins have been redeemed. God is turning your mistakes into miracles; Your mess into a message; Your test into a testimony.
Keep looking up,
