Little Gary

On our recent trip to Nias, Susan and I got to see "Little Gary" again. This child was named after me when we showed this family the grace of God and helped them with some much needed supplies. The parents hearts were touched by the generosity. Little Gary is now 6 months old and born into a poor family of 6 who live in a thatched roof wooden house. We brought baby supplies for Gary and a soccer ball for his three older brothers. Relationships are being built and lives changed by the grace of God! Thanks for your support, we couldn't do it without you!

Moving On Grace,

Gary & Susan

God Is For You

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The Lord is for me among those who help me; therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me. Psalm 118:6-7

David faced a lot of opposition during his life. Some of this opposition was brought on by his own sin, some by his position as Israel’s king, and some just by this fallen world in which we live. But through it all David had an amazing perspective. He believed that God was for him! That in and of itself is a perspective of power. In fact, because of this attitude, David did not fear his enemies. He knew they could do nothing against him that was not first sanctioned by his loving heavenly father. Therefore, he went through life with the confidence and peace of knowing that God was on his side. That God was not fighting against him but for him. And because of this divine favor, David could expect that he would triumph over his enemies. God’s desires for David’s success would outweigh his enemies desire for his failure.

If you are going to walk in victory, triumph and confidence, it must start with the faith that God is for you. This belief will activate several things in your life:

1. Believing God is for you will put to silence that voice that says you are destined to fail. Instead you will walk into the opportunities of your life hearing God say, “I am on your side”.

2. Believing God is for you will give you the expectation of success. You will begin to look for God’s blessing in your life instead of feeling like you are cursed.

3. Believing God is for you will cause you to walk in peace with confidence. This cannot be overstated. If you believe you are supposed to succeed, others will too. Faith is powerful. It is like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

So face your challenges with the right perspective. God is for you. And if God is for you, who or what can be against you!

Today’s prayer: “Lord thank You for Your incredible love for me. Help me to see that Your are for me no matter what I face.”

Gary

The Kingdom Within You

Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:20-21

We are constantly looking for our fulfillment and happiness to come from “out there” somewhere. I believe its a western thing. If we just had more possessions, or that guys/girl, or that job, we convince ourselves we would be happy. We even look for God “out there”. As if what we are looking for is beyond our reach or that it comes from without. But Jesus makes a powerful statement here. The kingdom of God (realm, territory, reign) is not external but internal. It is not physical but spiritual. It does not come from without but from within.

With the Spirit of God within you, you have the very source of life itself. Life that created all that is external. The peace you are searching for is as near as your own heart. The happiness that eludes you can be found in your own soul. You have eternity, infinity, and enlightenment within you. You are a new creation born of divine seed!

Realize that in you (the Holy Spirit within you) contains all that you will ever need for life and godliness (1 Peter 1:3).

So look no further… Find your strength within yourself. Believe that you contain all the ingredients for the abundant life of Christ. See if you look “out there” for something that is already “in here”, you will be lost.

Today’s prayer: Lord open my eyes to all the possibility that is already living within me.

Gary
