Grace Wave Ministries

We are all about ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Nias. Since people are made by God with a body, mind, and spirit; we offer ministry in all three of these areas. Relief and restoration for the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of the Nias people. Our philosophy is to do these acts of ministry through established churches and organizations that are run by the local leaders themselves. We partner with them so that they are seen as the frontrunners of the ministry with Grace Wave standing beside them to offer support. This brings honor and esteem to our local mission partners. Here is a brief description of the ministries we currently serve in:

Pastor Gary and Susan serve as speakers in churches, revivals, schools, seminars, and conferences throughout Nias island.  This is our primary way of doing ministry and proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. As the Scripture says, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!’” (Romans 10:14-15).

Located in the city of Teluk Dalam, the orphanage  cares for 20—25 children ranging in age from 4-21. Lead by Mrs. Sariamin Zalogo, this house is extremely well run and the children well mannered, proving the love and leadership she leads with. Our staff visits weekly to play with the kids, teach Bible study, teach English, and provide material goods. As the Scripture says, “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world” (James 1:27). Your heart will melt as you receive smiles and hugs from these amazing kids. These future world changers!

This community development centre focuses on helping single parent families by providing jobs through extracting pure organic coconut oil, computer training, english classes, dental cleaning, and physical therapy for handicapped children. As the Scripture says, “Our love can’t be an abstract theory we only talk about, but a way of life demonstrated through our loving deeds. We know that the truth lives within us[b] because we demonstrate love in action” (1 John 3:18-19). Our staff and volunteers serve regularly in multiple capacities. Visit their website at

This program is specifically designed to impact one life at a time. It operates on this principle: Do for someONE what you wish you could do for everyONE. It is easy to get paralyzed by all of the needs in a third-world place like Nias. Sometimes in our paralysis we get overwhelmed by the needs and end of helping no ONE. The Power of ONE focuses on ONE focuses on ONE need at a time, ONE life at a time. You cannot help everyONE but you can help someONE. As the Scripture says, “A certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he (man robbed and beaten) was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him” Luke 10:33-34.   Contact us for a list of current opportunities.
